Broadsword Certification Course March / April 2019

The Broadsword is the archetypical weapon of Scots and fantasy drama – think Highlander, Outlaw King, Outlander, Macbeth, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. If you’re interested in this sort of work then having broadsword skills could be a valuable asset.

No previous experience of stage combat is required.

We’ll take you through the fundamental principles for safety in stage combat weapons work and draw on historical techniques to enable you to perform safe and realistic fights for stage and screen with this weapon. We’ll also cover staging and acting the fight.

The course is over 30 hours of training and at the end you will have the opportunity to do your Fight Performance Test for certification with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat.  This is an industry recognised qualification.

You must attend all days to do the Fight Performance Test.

The test fee is included in the course price.
